Nearby Rancho de las Cabras, part of the Spanish colonization mission systems stretching across the Southwest for the 17th to 19th centuries is now part of the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park.
Canary Islanders Cemetery, established prior to 1900, memorializes the history and heritage of early settlers.
Visit the Lodi Historical District and experience a walk back to the late 18th and 19th century that include a stop at the old San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railway Depot, the original Beer Warehouse, the Red Bridge located across the Lagunilla de Pataguia, site of the Arocha rancho dating back to the 1760’s, the 1870’s Lodi Ferry Crossing, historic cemeteries, the restored LaBatt Road Bridge and a walk along the original La Bahia Road a.k.a. Goliad Road and the ghost town of Lodi.
Town folks say that on a dark, windswept, wintry night you can hear the old Davy Crockett locomotive approaching the old depot and sometimes see what appear to be men sitting on the railroad tracks.
